Product Review: Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H9

In this post I will give you a brief overview what to expect from the Bang and Olufsen Beoplay H9 bluetooth ANC headphones

Hi folks,

This post is a review of the Bang and Olufsen Beoplay H9.
I'm using the headphones since a year now and can say that they are amazing. But let's starts with some facts about them:
Form: Over-Ear
Frequency response: 20 Hz – 22000 Hz
Driver: 40mm
Weight: 295g
Features: Active Noice Cancelling (ANC) and battery pack for 14 hours of playtime

The H9 comes with a 3.5mm audio cable, micro-usb cable, airline adapter and a bag (sack). Cable isn't to short, quality is also very good.
My headphones are the Argilla Grey ones and they look neat compared to the black version. Black is just standard these days...
I use them daily with my Sony Xperia Z5 Dual and Spotify for playing music obviously. I had no sound issues so far and the bass is also good.

I also used them a while for meetings while moving around in the office. Microphone quality is not the best but these headphones are built for music ^^
Sometimes also it can happen that the microphone captures the voice of the person in front of you instead yours.
But besides that it is also useable for meetings and so one, but don't expect super high-quality microphone output, the headphones are not made for that.

What is cool about the headphones is that the are wireless (bluetooth) so you don't need to mess around with audio cables, and when riding a bike this is...
You can still plug a cable in and listen trough that, that also reduces the ammount of battery power needed for the ANC and bluetooth connection.
What also is very cool is the touch-panel on the right ear-shell. Its different then the ones you have on smartphones these days, so you can also use this with gloves.

On the touch-panel you can:
Tap on the panel for pause and play
Swipe up for ANC on
Swipe down for ANC off
Swipe backward for previous track
Swipe forward for next track
Rotate your finger clockwise ⟳ for volume up
Rotate the finger counter-clockwise ⟲ for volume down.

Only issue there is that the swipe backward is not always recognized by the headphones when used with gloves and instead the music is paused.

Replaceable battery pack
Listen to Music while charging the headphones
Touch-panel that works out-of-the box with gloves
premium design with alloy and real leather
good sound quality

battery pack needed for ANC
sound is only good when the headphones are turned on (battery pack needed)
no pairing via NFC (like bose quitecomfort)
price of 700 CA$
under wet conditions the touch-panel can stop functioning
Not the best for telefony

If you have any questions just drop them below. Thanks.

Regards,

Alex
