Photoshop on 4k displays with proper Resolution
Don't use Photoshop CC? Want to have a proper resolution for your e.g. Photoshop CS5 copy? Here is how!
Greetings folks,
I'm using the CS5 Creative Suite Design Premium
and therefore have Photoshop in Version 5 which is pretty old.
For those who are working with 4k displays you probably notice that the UI resolution on older versions of Photoshop is bad.
CS5
works well for me and I would like to be able to still use it on a 4k display.
So here come's the trick how to accomplish it. You need the Registry Editor (regedit) and a text editor (Sublime Text 3 e.g.)
Open the Registry Editor and go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SideBySide
On the right side right-click into the empty field and say New
>> DWORD (32-Bit) Value
Then name it PreferExternalManifest
and set its value to 1
Once this has been completed open up your editor and copy the code from below.
Save this as Photoshop.exe.manifest
to your installation of Adobe Photoshop. Mine for example is: P:\Programs\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\
.
Once done restart Photoshop to see the changes. If there are none then you need to restart your PC once.
Thats it.
Over and Out,
Aebian
